A Miracle is Lost

Why did you turn your back
On a miracle today?
Living with faith and trust is difficult
But it is the only way.

God’s blessings pour upon us
If only we will receive.
But acceptance seems impossible
For those who don’t believe.

Having faith in doctors
Is just a worldly thing.
But trusting in our Savior
Can make a sick heart sing.

True healing can only be obtained
From our Father up above.
What do doctors really know
About this all abiding Love?

This Love can heal your Spirit,
Your body and your soul.
To turn your back on God’s great miracle
Can only take a toll.

So when faced with a decision
Not knowing what to do,
Always please remember
His Love will see you through.

Stress

There must be a better way
To deal with all this stress.
Day in, day out
My life seems such as mess.

The headaches, back pain,
The colds and then the flu
Are just a small collection
Of the things that make me blue.

I try so hard to remain calm
While the pressure builds inside.
The anger and frustration
Are emotions I try to hide.

Some days are worse than others
But this one thing I see,
The more I push, the more they pull.
It’s ripping the heart right out of me.

I’ve bought the magazine,
And I’ve read all the books.
But none of their ideas
Ever let me off the hook.

How much of all this pressure
Is actually my fault?
My heart, my mind, my body
All seem under an assault.

So if you come across
A remedy that’s true,
Please send it to me quickly
For my life is oh, so blue.

Life Is Like A Mirror

Life is a perception.
It is your worldly view.
We each will see things differently.
What you see is up to you.

As we look upon the world
Through darkly colored glasses,
Our world reflects things back to us
As lessons that need passing.

For our world is like a mirror,
And our lives we see each day
As we look at other people
Who are traveling along our way.

How you feel about a person
Is a reflection of their mistakes,
And how you feel about yourself
And the errors that you make.

For what you say about another
Is most likely to be true.
But not about your enemy,
It will be true for you.

So be careful always
With what you say and do,
For everything that happens
Is reflected back to you.

My Grandfather, the Scrooge

My grandfather was a Scrooge,
A true miserly type.
He never fed into all
Of this prosperity hype.

In all the years I knew him
I never received a gift,
Or an acknowledgement of love.
It often caused a rift.

It wasn’t the lack of presents,
Let me make that clear.
It was the knowledge that
He never held us dear.

He was stingy.
He was tight.
He held on to money,
With all of his might.

And as he treated money,
So did he treat love.
I never saw him smile,
Or pray to God above.

Both love and money represent
Life energy and its flow.
To bind them closely to you
Only makes them want to go.

But when you become a channel
For God’s love and you believe,
Then you pass on these precious gifts
And God’s blessings you receive.

A Teacher’s Hope

As I look around my classroom
All my students I can see.
My wish for all these children
Is that they be all they can be.

Each of them is unique
With different learning styles.
And as I get to know them
Sometimes I make them smile.

Their backgrounds are varied
But all that means to me
Is that all these precious children
Need different blessings to receive.

Yes, I’m here to teach them science,
But this one thing I know.
There are more important things to learn
Before I let them go.

Knowledge is important
For this we should all strive,
But wisdom is a blessing
That keeps hope alive.

So each morning during our
Moment of silence, I do pray,
That God will let me be a blessing
To at least one of them this day.

If I can make a difference
In just one student’s life,
Then my mission is accomplished.
I can go forward without strife.

Daddy, You Are My Hero

Daddy, You are my hero.
You mean so much to me.
But I know that you must fight
To keep our country free.

There are nights I lie awake
Until it’s almost dawn,
Wondering about the food you eat
And the boots that you have on.

I wanted to come with you,
A protection I would be.
So I could keep you safe
And you would be with me.

But you explained so gently
About the job I had to do,
To stay home to protect Mama
So she wouldn’t worry about you.

I think most of the country
Understands your plight,
But they don’t know what we go through
Wondering if you're alright.

So night after night
I pray to God above,
Not only to protect you
But to send to you my love.

I must keep on believing
That our country will stay free,
And that one day very soon,
He’ll send you home to me.
