Abundance
“It is more blessed
To give than to receive.”
This is a loftly message,
But it was not what I believed.
I believed in scarcity,
In struggles and in fear.
I believed that life was hard.
To me this was so clear.
But now I understand
There is a better way.
When you want or need something
Get on your knees and pray.
For God, Our Father, wants us to live
A long and happy life.
He desires for us to be free
From all this earthly strife.
In this world there is an abundance
Of all we want and need.
If you don’t believe this truth,
Through your Bible you must read.
For every thing you give away
Much more will come your way.
If you want true riches
You must give some every day.
Prosperity Pie
As you struggle with prosperity
There are things you need to learn.
Prosperity is God’s gift to you,
Not something you must earn.
Money is not the root of all evil,
But the love of money is.
All true love must be for God
And our riches will be His.
When you think about prosperity
All the pieces you must see.
Money is just a part of what you need
For your spirit to be free.
To have true prosperity
You must be born again.
It is a daily struggle
To keep your soul from sin.
Health and wisdom count,
As do peace and love,
And the baptism of the Spirit,
All must come from God above.
You must have all the pieces
Of this prosperity pie,
For God to send the overflow.
Why would the Good Book lie?
It is God’s will that you should prosper,
In every area of your life.
God checks in every corner
To relieve you from all strife.
The highway to Heaven
Is through God’s Holy Word.
As we read it we must listen
For it’s message must be heard.

Prosperity Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you in prayer.
I have another problem
And I know that you do care.
I not only need love and money,
But also peace of mind.
I search for health and happiness,
And wisdom I must find.
It is your will that we should prosper
As our soul doeth prosper, too.
I read this in your Holy Book,
III John and in verse 2.
When I reach the pinnacle of my faith,
I’ll be in the overflow.
So please teach me how to reach such heights.
Please show me so I’ll know.
There are such riches waiting
For me when I arrive,
I want to thank you in advance
For the treasures I will find.
Amen

My Grandfather, the Scrooge
My grandfather was a Scrooge,
A true miserly type.
He never fed into all
Of this prosperity hype.
In all the years I knew him
I never received a gift,
Or an acknowledgement of love.
It often caused a rift.
It wasn’t the lack of presents,
Let me make that clear.
It was the knowledge that
He never held us dear.
He was stingy.
He was tight.
He held on to money,
With all of his might.
And as he treated money,
So did he treat love.
I never saw him smile,
Or pray to God above.
Both love and money represent
Life energy and its flow.
To bind them closely to you
Only makes them want to go.
But when you become a channel
For God’s love and you believe,
Then you pass on these precious gifts
And God’s blessings you receive.
